  1. Some people think that hopefully, like regretfully, cannot be used to modify a sentence, but they’re wrong, and they’ve always been wrong. Hopefully is the antonym of both regretfully and regrettably.

  2. Descriptivist vs Prescriptivist, take elebentyjillion.

  3. How does Old Man Chen feel about “Isn’t it Ironic”?

  4. I can’t feel the melody of these lyrics. Could you post the chords?

  5. “I heard someone use ‘literally’ wrong on NPR the other day”

You don’t use something “wrong”. You use something “wrongly”. I like the irony of a comic about using adverbs incorrectly that uses adverbs incorrectly.

    Ironic?
The comic BOLDED every word they used INCORRECTLY as part of the humor, then ‘Grammar Nazi’ didn’t get the joke.
    THAT’S ‘Irony’ ;-)

  7. Actually, wrong is an adverb too. Check any dictionary. Nevertheless, I tend to prefer “incorrectly”.

  8. I don’t care about adverbs. Logical punctuation is the hill I’ve chosen to die on today.

  9. I can still hear your father correcting my use of the word “hopefully”!!!!!

  10. I herd you like misused adverbs so I put an incorrectly used adverb into the strip :-)
