Tube prices are set up to favour those who favour unlimited travel on daily, or preferably weekly, basis. London doesn’t like tourists very much (just the money they bring), and it turns up they come anyway, however much they’re charged.
When I still lived in London, I walked a lot, there is not much of the city proper more than half-an-hour from any other part.
