But sometimes Jackrabbit can be like thirty cents cheaper than Goya! THIRTY. CENTS.
How did you get a picture there!
i want a picture too…
anyway, when my mom made beans my job was taking the bag of beans and sifting them to remove dirt, stems, rocks and twigs.
that was my job, bean by bean i would sift them from one pot to the other, never under a stream of water or over a pot of boiling water.
andn no one ever got a chipped tooth from bitting on a pebble while eating beans thanks to me.
Like H, I used to sort beans and lentils from plate to plate. These days I got lazy… and it turns out other people my age don’t realise there’s often non-beans present. Urgh.
Oh wow, we have gravatar now. Hmm.
the thing is, if you sift them under running water some of the dirt might stick on the beans or lentils.
‘cuz you know some of them are cracked or rotten and those you wont find unless you sift them one by one.
my mom was like “havent you seen me do it before? you dont wash them, you sift them first then put them in the pot” and she went ahead and inspected all my beans again.
