any time you see a taco with chedar cheese on it or a dish drowned in salsa and ground beef trying to pass itself as mexican food i would refer to it as tex mex.
i just thought tht that was exclusive to texas. like new mexico had its own variant, arizona had its own thing, and california has “baja style.”
