Being a little slow on the uptake, I thought you were buying 12 jars of pickles, and I was having a hard time figuring out what the associated cliche was. Except maybe “crazy person.”
For making Christmas gifts! Spoiler Alert: Everyone is getting pickles or molasses cookies. Eenie: are you telling me that Polish people are *crazy*?
I think there’s an essential divide between the pickle-lovers and the non-pickle-lovers, and I’m on the “I don’t get it” side of the divide. So, yeah, maybe a little. And even if you really loved pickles, would you buy them a dozen jars at a time? (Well… I guess that’s pretty much the Costco business model.)
A friend of mine once spilled one of those food-service-sized jars of pickles in his girlfriend’s car. He said that for a long time afterwards it was like driving around in a pickle sauna.
Yeah but i think thats a dozen jars for preserving pickles which she’s carrying. I do not think she’s gonna give a dozen store-bought pickle jars as gifts but rather make her own (which is great!).
And the follow up comment clarifies that half are for pickles and the other half for presenting molases cookies.
It’s too bad that making something good to eat seems like a cliche. Home made pickles are the best.
