I feel your pain. I’ve melted 3 of them. At least that’s as many as i’m prepared to admit to melting…..
I’m pretty sure percolators aren’t supposed to go on the stove but I have never used one?
i once bought a precolator because i liked the idea of having a precolator. unfortunately i never had anything that needed precolated and it sat in a cabinet for many a year until one time i attempted to use it and completely destroyed it and part of my stove. my adventure wasn’t nearly as amusing as yours……and much more costly to myself.
By the drawing it looks like an Italian coffee maker and yes they are designed to go on a stove-top.
I used to have one, eventually the handles just give out. That’s when I bought a one-cup French press. Just noticed, it’s like a regular UN of coffee here. (Or is that UrN).
ho ho, percolators are great, and if you get a nice old one with the metal handle it will last you forever…. I had one from my grandmother which was lost in a move. simple, white, with a blue flower on it…
I have a little italian espresso stove top machine, and that is not so good, but I think there is a secret I haven’t figured out yet to making it good. I also have a french press for when I’m not willing to drink awful espresso experiment #3495…
*mild applause*
