Like Where The Wild Things Are, Transformers, and Xmen. Now that theyre movies suddenly everyone everywhere is and has been a hardcore fan of them and now theyre angry that deadpool was not portrayed accuratly. little do they know that theyre just bandwagon fans. i didnt care then and i still dont. although Where The Wild Things Are brings a twinge of nostalgia
i just changed to flannel sheets this past weekend. for me, flannel is less about nostalgia and more about keeping warm in an ontario winter without spending a billion dollars on my heating bill. although i *did* used to rock the blue plaid flannel shirt in 1993.
I read Girl’s statement in panel #8 and thought – I’ve commented (quoted) on a similar thought here before, “the secret is to learn how to stop remembering…” See: http://catandgirl.com/?p=2133 “Remembering.” And the I realized I am _remembering_ about the concept that I should be trying to forget more stuff… Drat!
Watch “All quiet On The Western Front” for a frightful awakening. Read “Time Enough For Love” a fine book.
My father was in the British Army in WW I, Frankly I am very glad he made it, it sucked.
I wore Flannel when I was a kid, at the height of its fashionability.
But, growing up in rural Texas, I was totally unaware of its momentary desirability. By the time I realized it was cool (well, hot, but) I’d moved on to plain t-shirts. Now I live across from Seattle, and don’t own any flannel anything anymore.
Is it a cool thing now to wear a white t-shirt under a coloured one? I’ve started doing that lately on account of comfiness.

I have flannel pajamas. I often dream of Olympia.

Flannel is back? Great, I’ll grow my hair, stop shaving and write angsty songs. I guess the shirts are still in the back of the closet, somewhere.

Flannel went out of style? What have my girlfriend and I been thinking?!

Though I put off seeling out…. this is weirdly coincidental. Why do these cretins insist on wearing what I can only refer to as spitwash material.
So Camden town 2004….

we have pretty much given up on remembering WW1, so maybe that will come back….

Well that’s all part of the appeal for me.

It may be too early to remember something, but it’s never too early to sell it:
