Let’s not trust until we make a desicion on what do we consider right, constructive and legitimate. Then we wont be suckers, may be we’ll be wrong, but not suckers.
Radiolab, a little while back, had an episode on “Falling”, one of the vignettes concerning falling in love. When the lady in that story learned the full truth about her paramour, well, there was no going back. She had trusted, she had fallen, and the facts didn’t end her love.
She could have waited to be sure.
Speaking of trusting a decision, I wonder if the shift from colored-black background to cut outs on the star background was an intentional choice (signifying an opening to the vast possibilities), or one arrived at and embraced halfway through creation.

Deceive. Inveigle. Obfuscate.

Cassandra: I don’t trust you. No one does. But undoubtedly you will turn out to be right.

Cat as Scully might be one of my favorite things ever.
pulling up walls in order to never look foolish is definitely far more destructive. but it’s not that basically dualist.
