Ignoring — it is pretty much the best response to oppression.

My childhood afternoons, in brief: Get home from school and watch the Tiny Toons family of cartoons until 4pm. Watch syndicated sitcoms or Adam West’s Batman until 5pm. Eat dinner. Spend two hours listening to the radio and reading. Do homework while watching prime time television from 8pm until 10pm or 11. Go to sleep.

The last time I got to watch cable was two years ago on an airplane.

I quit watching TV in the mid ’70s. My wife would really rather I stop telling people that. She got me to start watching again last year by luring me into BSG and then Buffy. Probably paying me back for getting her hooked on coffee, which she resisted for 40 years.

Tiny Toons! Oh man. That’s pretty much what my childhood was like, as well.

I like how Girl’s art is more detailed than the art which contains it.
