There are wants, there are needs and they’re two very different things
You can love or be in love, again they’re two very different things.

How I miss the Long Blondes.

As desire is the source of all suffering, it leads me to question:
    Is suffering necessarily bad?

Some forms of suffering are good. They drive art. And isn’t the alternative to having want just sitting there, eating and sleeping? What kind of life is that? Surely suffering is better.

Suffering is the source of all motivation, and therefore life.

Well, what if you didn’t need anything? Either way, it would be bliss

Sometimes I try to daydream a Utopia where all needs and wants are met for everyone in a way that is harmonious (i.e. there are no bigots or serial killers to ruin things).

I can never figure out a way to make it not bland. I can never figure out a way for a generation of kids raised in such a world to be anything but shallow.

The music and literature I respond to comes from suffering. Philosophy is a desire to find meaning. These don’t happen in a world without suffering :(
