7th panel is the sweetest, but I bet he enjoyed the party.
Sitting alone in the dark drinking cocoa sounds good, but it gets a bit dull.

No offense, but I disagree with every clause of Hannah’s post.

@Hannah, haven’t you ever been in one of those moods where you just want peace and quiet and to be left alone for you mind to settle down like a pond that’s had rocked dropped into it every second of every day because you work in customer service?

I bet he didn’t enjoy the party, and neither did anyone else. Not really.

@David It would be glorious to not have to worry constantly about being called in to work, yes.

I’m sure someone will argue with me, but I say employment is not at all a necessary good. Work, in the sense of something to do, may have its benefits, but working for a douchebag really does not build character.

By ‘rocked’ I mean ‘rocks’, of course. I wish I could install software on my computer that prevents me from posting instantaneously, therefore forcing me to (a) reconsider what I’m saying and (b) notice how bad my spelling is.

I was going to write about douchebags at work, but my girlfriend was reading over my shoulder and assisted me in function (a).

Great, great. Cat’s back home. Can we now get back to free-standing brilliant comics uncluttered by the specter on continuity? Thanks

Reading this storyline piecemeal is effing excruciating, but I went back through the whole thing in one go and it was actually very good.

Best storyline since The Spirit of Ironic T-Shirts.

I am about to go on a vacation and all my old friends are going to be there and there will be parties and people all over, and this is exactly how I feel about it.

@David: I totally get those moods, all the time in fact. That’s why I have a very limited social circle.

But, and like rocketbride said, quiet time is never quite as sweet as I imagined, and after a while I just want to be back with people and noise.

However annoying the people in question might be, at least they’re more interesting than me.

I freaking hate when things like this happen!

Wow. This posted just days after I watched the Star Trek episode where Worf finds himself unstuck in the multi-universe continuum and jumping from one possible reality to another. I could completely identify with his apprehension over which universes would have surprise parties in them and which wouldn’t.
