I remember Hi-8. Too well. I used a Hi-8 camera in Japan, and had a hell of a time finding something to play it back on back here in Canada.

i looked up minstrelry to see if it was really a word. i got this from wikipedia:

well there you go, i can’t wait until the record industry is as obscure and forgotten as minstrels…
hi-8’s a little more recent. analog video, optional digital sound! i’m sure there’s a mini-mart somewhere that still has tapes for those.

I babysat for a woman whose boyfriend heisted her a Betamax. They were shortly thereafter equally miffed about the format and grateful they didn’t pay for it.

Can’t believe you didn’t include books.

I have a movie on HD DVD (Fifth Element). I can’t even play it, I just want it so that I have a relic of the Format Wars. Betamax tapes are incredibly rare compared to VHS now, soon it will be that way with all doomed formats.
