Darn ghost. Distracting girl why she tries to enjoy a nice pizza. Doesn’t it know that after she’s done eating pizza she has dishonor and death to attend to.
Wait, so did the pizza cool down, or did something put her off?
“The flatulent ghost” makes me think it was something other than steam rising from that pizza.
This cartoon is simple by itself. There’s this puff of steam coming from a warm pizza. Instead of sitting down right there and tucking into the pizza, she dithers around, taking off her coat and getting a plate. By then the pizza is cold and unsatisfying.
Anyway, my point is that it’s easy to read too much into the title. Did someone fart? Is there an actual ghost in the room? Suddenly the cartoon takes on a whole new layer of complexity that isn’t there.
Or is it there? Maybe it is and I don’t realise it. I can never tell with Cat and Girl. I’m never sure if Cat is attempting to integrate into his living being the indigestable, unpalatable ingredients of raw art, or if he’s just drinking paint.

Describes my thought process pretty exactly, while I concluded that Girl would not care whether the Pizza was cold, but someone did in fact fart, likely Girl herself, which then provokes the refusal.
Or maybe she has to fart and doesnt want to eat at the same time? Or maybe she knows that dishonor and death are next-as aron(swifteye) pointed out- and that realizaion spoils her enjoyment of pizza?
So she refuses the pizza, attempting to hold off dishonor and then death. She risks starving to death out of stubbornness, which would make her look dumb (dishonor).
OR;
The title tells us to expect a ghost, just as she expects hot yummy pizza. But she finds that the pizza is cold, and we find that there is no ghost. Both are let down by their expectations. But that doesn’t quite work, since we don’t miss out on the ghost because we read too slowly. There’s no visual evidence of the ghost besides the title.
I’ve never noticed how bad Girl’s posture is before. She’s gonna be one of those old ladies shuffling around like damn Quasimodo. Probably facial hair to match Victor Hugo’s, too. Is there a correlation between old folks with hunched backs and facial hair? There seems to be. Someone should do a study.
I thought the point of the comic was that someone had farted in that room some time before Girl arrived and she smelled it right as she was about to eat. This comic is obviously a metaphor for the theory of relativity.

Oh, the wanting is always better that the having. The pizza smells wonderful, but it never tastes as good as it smells.

Que?

Haunting! But don’t worry Girl, the pizza will still taste well. The candle guides the way.

Why did she put the pizza on the plate before she even took her coat off? Also, is the joke that her pizza got cold?

A fart joke in “Cat and Girl”? There is no end to your versatility!

I will find him!

How mysterious. The most complicated jokes always involve flatulence.

The panel of her lifting the pizza out of the box is beautiful! Makes me want pizza :(

ah, the face of disappointment

Cold pizza is the best pizza, especially after waking up from a night of drinking.

It reminds me how I saved up for ages to buy the lego set CafĂ© Corner (10182), but by the time I eventually bought it, the excitement had faded, it was really boring to build and took up too much room. I still enjoyed it, but not as much as if I’d bought it the first time I heard about it.

Girl is haunted by the memory of a scent now vanished. E.G., the flatulent ghost.
Alternatively… there is no ghost! Ha ha! April Fools!

My question is this: assuming that–at any point in the comic–something smelled, how was Girl aware of it?
She has no nose.
