I almost miss Lisa Frank. Haven’t seen any of that stuff in a long time… but I’m somehow reminded of it whenever I see the “Paul Frank” line of merchandise at Target.
This is why I can never watch advertising. They figured out how to lock in associations between their product and something beautiful, and once that association is made, it can never be undone.
There is a very distinctive native bird call here that always reminds me of oil companies. It makes me so mad.
i just flood myself with associations and the concept becomes ambiguous again.
I wonder if there’s an illustrated manuscript version of this comic in an old bible somewhere saying that greek mythology totally ruined the use of the griffin.
