'The present is a slippery eel,' says Girl. 'A bad present1' replies Cat. 'Within your grasp for a moment - and then gone.' 'How much time do you want to spend holding an eel?' Asks Cat. 'Look at all those other suckers lining up! Let THEM hold the eel! I've hotbed movies to watch! Buses to wait for! Crossword to half-finish! DON'T WASTE MY TIME!' Later, Cat and the Beatnik Vampire sit at a bat. 'Remember when WE had the eel?' Asks Cat. 'It writhed more then,' says the vampire. 'Not like now.'
