Painfully correct. In a world awash in consumerism, how do we tell the difference between a person’s advertising-influenced opinions… and a person’s advertising?
My manager is always telling me to “fake it until I make it.” I just want to tell him to stuff himself. One: I don’t want to be a fraud, and two: I don’t want to make it.
I don’t love my friends who went nuts trying to sell me Goji Berry Juice and Acai Berry Diets. My friendship isn’t a part of anyone’s enthusiastic unsuccessful pyramid.
I just had to say that this is so brilliant. It’s simple and true point, while also being an original point to make. It’s always fascinating to see universal truths that aren’t perennial, but unique to this moment in history, and yet they’re still just as all encompassing.
I’d totally buy something with “I thought I was a friend, but I’m an audience.” on it. Mmm… a consumer to the end.

Money wouldn’t know value if it was punched in the face by it!

Jim, I like your idea. I think I’ll print one of these off on a notecard and stick it in my wallet.

Incredibly biting. An audience. Now I get it, when people say they like a ‘good listener.’

Hmm..this is true, in a noisy world (thanks to the internet) it’s tough to measure success
