We as a society, perhaps, can control the past– but as individuals we can do little or nothing. If I, individually, decide to remember that I earned six figures last year, that won’t make anyone else believe it… least of all the people in charge of my bank account.
@Erika, you’re partially right. Unfortunately, revisionist thinking is contagious. It may not help with your bank account, but the Vietnam war, the Reagan years, even the Bush presidency are looking better and better to more and more folks.
