Pink was originally a boys’ colour; being a lighter version of red. Blue was for girls as it’s a soft, serene colour. Somehow we mixed the two over the years. It just goes to show how gender is subjective, and what we relate to each is really only culturally defined.
Greenleavez speaks straight from the colon,
Blue was the colour for Male children at birth, and there was no specific ‘girl’ colour.
Girl was a gender neutral term denoting that someone had not yet come of age, a sissy girl for a female, a knave girl for the Male.
Red eyes were a later development, and, as still today, difficult to make fast to the fabric.
So pink cloth became available, and the rest is propaganda…

Pink nailbeds, Girl. Blue nailbeds indicate oxygen starvation. Better hope you’re in the pink, cyanotic is the opposite of your perception.
