A different kind of ownership occurred to me just now: one of tastes. “This isn’t really my crap.” “Oh, that song is one of HIS choices.” Sometimes it can make the difference between outright love and grudging respect.
Though that ownership is almost as much the listener belonging to the music as it is the music belonging to the listener.
When I was in college the Classic Rock station played music from the 60’s and 70’s. Later, classic rock included the 80’s. Now even Bush, Creed Nickelback are “classic.”
Which is why I can’t listen to the radio anymore unless I can get the classical or jazz stations.

More likely mango on a stick- they cut it into bite-sized petals so it looks sort of like a pine cone, and then sprinkle chili powder on top.

I played an “oldies” anthology, to get the music my parents played when I was younger,
And it had nirvana songs in it.
And I laffed and laffed….
