The Levi-Strauss ref is plain, but is it just me or is his uncle Mauss there as well…
Unfortunately, either its not funny or I don’t really get this bricolage.
However, the history contained therein shows for the most part there are a lot of right gits, people who try to do the right thing, people who decide to be better humans, people who decide to be willfully stupid to the ruination of their own lives and that of others. Oppression, the wish for freedom from it. And angsty prophets that Girl would drop right in amongst like a missing puzzle piece. In truth very little has changed in the human condition over the millenia, except science and technology. Current Syria is just a modern reenactment of biblical history with modern weapons.
