    Theater and music began as bodyless. We can read reviews of pre-19th Century performances, but we can’t really revisit them.

    So that feels like a homecoming.

    Books on the other hand… written words have always had a solid form by definition. So typing this is suddenly making me feel like Bruce Willis in one of those M. Night Shyamalan movies.

    Story was bodyless for thousands of years before somebody figured out how to write it down. A million stories vanished without even leaving a review.

    Media is not bodiless in internet culture, the body has just become standardized into the personal computer. Giant Netflix servers are bodies too.
