“My friends, we live in a world that is lit by lightning.”

Why did Reagan say that like it was a good thing? Is that how much faith he really had in energy deregulation?

There’s never anything good to watch…

In New Zealand we just had a law introduced making it illegal to download copyrighted material using file sharing programs. I mean, it was already illegal, but now they can actually enforce the law.

Since we’re months behind the rest of the world in terms of broadcasting, we’re all having very similar discussions:

    “Let’s watch it on TV.”
    “It’s not on TV yet.”
    “Let’s watch it on DVD.”
    “It’s not on DVD yet.”
    “Let’s watch it on Netflix.”
    “We don’t even HAVE Netflix.”
    “Let’s download it.”
“We’re not allowed to do that any more.”

Instead of “WHAT are we going to watch?” the question is “HOW are we going to watch it?”

At least Cat & Girl will have their power restored eventually. I have to sit in the dark and hope that some day, someone will decide it is economically viable enough to release the DVD of Breaking Bad: Season Three in this country.

Whenever power is out, all we want to do are things that need electricity.

Sure that sucks, David. There are shows, movies and games not available on “legal” form, so what can you do to have them?

Sit and wait and hope that no one posts anything too spoilerish on the internet for a year or so. Or avoid the internet altogether…

I think now would be a great time to invest in board games.

That’s how it was for me when Hurricane Sandy struck.
