I actively enjoy your cartoons — even when I can’t parse them — and I also feel like shredded original art today (The noodles from my chicken soup flopped off the spoon and all over my desk). Thanks and keep up the good work.
I did this once. I wrote several letters to a girl expressing my various feelings about her choosing someone else over me. Each of my letters basically represented one of the five stages of grief (which I apparently went through in a single night of writing).
In the end I couldn’t figure out which one to send, so I ripped them up, glued them back together and sent them to her like this.
Her conclusion was that I was dangerously unstable and should never contact her again. I think the was a more satisfactory result than if I had sent any single letter.
A thought:
Why do people always comment that they don’t always ‘get’ the strips when the strips so often make an argument against context and authorial intent?
Just a thought.

I’m going to presume that the original for yesterday’s comic is not available for purchase anymore.

Why did Gogol destroy Dead Souls 2?
I think I’m beginning to see the thought process that leads up to it.
But it’s not one that I like…

The original of a published work is nothing more significant than the first copy to exist outside the creator’s mind.

Love the extended wordplay, Dorothy — quite apt.

But when you scanned it and uploaded it, that was an act of creation too, a suggestion about the relationship between objects.

I wonder… How did you make this? Did you shred it over your scanner and mash it down? Or did you draw all of this
