C: In What Sense? It seems (to me) to be affiliated with various sitcom episodes about house or flatmates I can only half remember, plus maybe a Bloom County that subdivided everything into smaller and smaller “us” and “them” groups, but I’d say it had nish all to do with any design studio, and “Border Town” is hardly an uncommon coinage.
Border Town Design Studios is at least partially the work of Miss Emily Horne, the photographer for A Softer World. You’ll find the comic she and Joey Comeau create in the top of the “SOME OTHER FINE COMICS” list.
So even though C’s link looks like spam, and I don’t entirely get the connection, don’t do yourself the disservice of discarding it out of hand.

This strip appears to be affiliated with the Border Town design studio, which my name will link to.
