A long time ago the world was all connected and everyone was fabulously wealthy. Every family had a home like a palace, every person their own room to sleep in on a soft bed – even the children! Water was brought right into the houses and some of it was heated by machines underneath, so you could always have a drink or a bath and no one had to lift a finger. Machines kept the homes warm in the winter and cool in the summer, and everyone was very well behaved like ladies and gentlemen of waiting in the court. Because what did they have to fight about?

Although the cartoon that inspired it was good, too. All except how the green ran out at the end. That confused me.

As someone who lived through the ’70s, let me be the first to say how extremely UN-surprised that they never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever came back, even once.
