I like that she’s only genuinely distressed at the thought of believing in the importance of self: what philosophical lies are more threatening than the ones we know ourselves to be susceptible to, after all. Existential denial, whaaaaat.

So very good. Atheism, nationalism, tribalism, greed, and resignation all skewered on the same kabob.

This is awesome! Electrons ARE moralistic claptrap! I’ve been thinking that for years. Dorothy has created the voice of our generation in the character of girl. I <3 Girl!

I was into neutrons before they were cool.

I’m a quantum wave of probability.

Everybody knows antiprotons are way cooler. Dark Matter and stuff.

    BenK, you’re an idiot.

Nobody here is an idiot. That is simply not possible. I really like the movie “Blazing Saddles” because of its premise that nothing is sacred. John Lennon wrote at least one song with a similar theme…
But hey, after tomorrow we won’t have to worry. Won’t we?

That’s right, jonthebru! The world will be ending and that’ll be that.

I think atoms are cool, personally, but then again I am something of a partisan here.

Way to collapse my wave function, Girl.

I used to believe in not believing, though I believe I’ll be leaving, as the trees are leafing.

The behavior of subatomic particles is the only reason to believe that the universe isn’t deterministic and the future isn’t all planned out for us. But when electrons convince you there’s no predestination, they don’t convince you that you have free will. Only that THEY have free will. Lucky electrons.

I’d like to see Girl say something that couldn’t be construed as suicidal.

All the leptons are moralistic claptrap. And spin.

“the voice of our generation in the character of girl.”

If that were the case I would have a lot more of an affinity for my generation.

@Jinmen: Girls ideas are too pessimistic to be suicidal. Suicide is, at its heart, an optimistic act of faith. It’s the romantic’s response.
