In the 1800’s drinking liquor was healthier than drinking water. And in the early 20th century, the poor were more likely to spend their money on bacon and bread. Butter was a luxury.
In the Czech republic you can’t drink tap water. And bottled beer is cheaper than bottled water. AND it’s they make the best lager-beer in the world.
Hence I love Czech breakfasts.
I know, KChris, they also make great cereal.
