Tribal identities will endure and change. The hipster idea exists in britain but it’s not really got a label yet. Vintage, maybe. But we have chavs. It’s nothing to be proud of.
I realised quite young that tribal adornings and groups were full of shit when the hip hop kids would naively mock the rock kids by wrongly generalising about how lame their music was ‘all about slitting wrists’ and then the rock kids would be just as naïve about hip hop being entirely about bitches money drugs and gunz.
