About forty years ago I worked at a summer camp. One summer the maintenance boy was given the task of varnishing the Director’s Office. He, being a few sandwiches short of the metaphorical picnic, used far too much turpentine while thinning the mixture. It consequently took days (weeks!) to dry. During this period the fish-fly hatch occurred. The result was Chia-Pet-like. And for a very, very long time.
