I tried to use the all-natural context, but eventually gave up on it. I hated having to stir it every time.

It wasn’t that all commentary, writing and art was epic in the past. There always were two old guys sitting on the porch of the general store, smoking and blogging.

the knife proves it isn’t mayonnaise, look. (i don’t blame you for being paranoid though, i worry about mayonnaise too– almost enough to never eat egg salad)

this is very interesting… (: I didn’t understand what you said about us making our contexts and all until the three panels afterwords. I’ll guess I’ll give my interpretation though in case somebody doesn’t understand, because there are a lot of times when I don’t understand this comic.

We make our own contexts as a society, not as individuals (correct me if I’m wrong). As individuals we choose the contexts we wish to express ourselves with, or at least we usually do. The reason we are enjoying the context present in our culture (the delicious peanut butter sandwich) is because it’s mostly care free! It comes day by day without worrying about the future, or posterity.

I guess an example of the context present within our current culture is the television: the tool of apathy. We are able to label our leisure time as “entertainment” which passes our time minute by minute, day by day. There is no reason to leave the comfort of the sofa and this makes life real easy.

Once again I’m just spewing my thoughts in case they help anybody out.

For me thought always leads to doubt. It makes it difficult to enjoy the context. But without thought I’m not certain the context is worthwhile. It’s a pickle.

Nobody makes finished objects anymore – Grrl

Slices of bread on the table, the grimace on Girl’s face. The unfinished sandwich, eating a slice of bread while you lick the peanut butter off the knife.
