tubejay, what is the source of your belief that roller coasters were MORE safe in the old days than they are now? And when you say, “used to be”, what time period are we talking about – the 1950’s, 1980’s…?
I’m not saying you’re absolutely wrong, because I don’t have any specific hard facts either way. On the other hand, I do know that machinery in America is generally safer now than it was thirty years ago, so I’m inclined to disbelieve your assertion.
