Life is like a postmodern poem

full of meaning you can’t grasp.

Cat’s Nihilistic McFlurry wins! This brightens up a day that will start with a presentation on dynamic semantics’ solution to negative existentials. Good to know Cat’s “got my back”.

Life is entropy waiting to happen. Says the little rock on top of the big rock.

“OK” — Adequate Decision Dinosaur? Have we seen him before?

  • David Thomsen

OK Decision Dinosaur’s only known appearance thus far: ‘Home for the Holidays’.

Life is like graffiti. It appeared overnight, will be shortly erased and if you analyse it too closely it will lose all meaning.

Life is like a comic comment thread. A million, billion people already before you, trying to leave their mark. It would take forever to look over what everyone else has done, so best just to accidentally repeat something somebody else did and feel happy about it anyway.

Life is like the ’83 Trailblazers: you draft Sam Bowie over Michael Jordan.

This is the first time that girl said something I found uplifting. In honour of that I made it my facebook status.

    I’ve read the entire archive.

Now that you mentioned it I’m actually surprised girl isn’t more positive nowadays. Pessimism has gone rather mainstream these past few years.

Life is a bit like the Mac vs Windows debate.
Nobody is right, nobody is wrong, and it will give you a headache if you think about it too much.

    sorry about this:
like and as/is are similes. metaphors are direct statements.
still, love the jokes in here. i think grrl’s is my favourite. mawkish has too little usage.
    ps, love you dorothy!

    I approve!
“Time rushes towards us with its hospital tray of infinitely varied narcotics, even while it is preparing us for its inevitably fatal operation.” Tennessee Williams

    Oh, I get it!
A simile is eating a piece of cake.
A metaphor is like a simile.
    It’s like I’m learning.

Life is a song heard blaring from blown out speakers from a speeding car. Weirdly enticing, and entirely too brief to make sense.

I love that Boy was the only one to actually express his views through metaphor. Not only that, he is expressing his views on death, and not so much on life. Also, he was the only one not being cliche with their “life is. . .” stuff. I like Boy in this comic, if it wasn’t obvious.

life is like trying to decide between titling a comic metaphor or simile when you don’t know the difference, metaphor sounds so much better.

Well, they are *cheap* metaphors, after all. You have to expect some defects when you’re looking for a bargain.
