Maybe I’m misinterpreting it, but this is so sweet to me. On the fast track to elite status, Cat found himself in the highest position of all: best friend.

I think the cartoon would be even better if it used the ‘old model’ Cat in the flashbacks, though, before he developed his hunchback and permanent stoop.

I’m with Krepta a best friend puts us each in an elite status. I went to an Ivy League graduation last summer, they are just like the pictures drawn, great job as always.

I like the cat picture in panel 5… a relative perhaps?

This isn’t directly related to this particular comic, but I just thought I’d say… I think that part of the reason that I like Cat & Girl so much is that I like comics that are occasionally smarter than I am more than comics that are occasionally dumber than I am.

One of those gives me something to reach for; a direction in which to go. The other asks me to go back on the path from which I came; to fall backward into senility.

I don’t know if that holds true for other people or not. But it might be one good argument against the fashion of dumbing everything down to the lowest common denominator, anyway.

It’s hard to stay in the elite when you’re drinking so much paint.

OMG, Cat was on the crew team at U. Suck? I think we might have rowed against them last year! I know he probably graduated while I was in high school, so I never rowed against him personally. Still though. Small world.
    Sweep rowing forever!
Did Cat row a four or an eight?

love it, also think the end panel is about friendship and not cynical at all, no no… but have just realized Crew Cat is rowing in a boat with only starboard rowers, and thus will always go in circles.

I heard cat graduated Super Magna Wuteva.

Also, rowing in circles is going to be a demonstration sport at the 2012 Summer Olympics.
