    Is that last guy with ‘stache meant to be Schleiffen?

    You mean the man in the “Next week on BDD” panel? Yeah, that’s von Schlieffen, and the main guy then is Gavrilo Princip.

    As an aside, Schlieffen didn’t want to occupy France, just knock her out of the war (and relinquish territory and cash). Hitler wanted the whole shebang.

    The plan totally worked, except the part about “concentrate on the Eastern front” actually being successful. Also fucking up the invasion of Britain.

    Never mind that the austro-hungarian empire only existed for 108 years, the cycle from great grandparent to a newborn without knowledge, and the war killed the generations between so that the context of the holy Roman empire was lost, and the colonial period was swept under the rug, and the Australians were sent to gallipoli and Flanders to be slaughtered.
    Apartheid in south Africa and the Nazi party in Germany being offshoots of the White Australia policy.

    If Japan hadn’t bitchslapped America in pearl harbor for the Kyoto bay incident America would have joined the German side of ww2 as the german-american bund was planning.

    The crusade has a new coat of paint, and thanks to stockholm syndrome a whole new ideology.
    But it’s just the same old nonsense.

    We killed every other animal that could serve as a predator to keep our numbers in check, and so we must find ways to do it ourselves.

    And pointing out stuff like that is why I’m on bail awaiting trial at the magistrates court…

    @Johnny Austin
    Your (ridiculous) argument relies on an obvious false dichotomy; you assume our numbers need to be kept below some arbitrary threshold which has never been reached, and each estimate of which has been eventually disproven by experience.
