    Hmmm. Looking for meaning in the basement, yes? Isn’t that bogeyman territory? Now the bogeyman did move out a couple strips ago, which someone identified as a marker of Girls ending childhood (DIRC? And what happened to the bogeyman? Did he get that job?). So the loss of childhood fears results in a search for meaning that itself results in frustration. Stunning. Girl and Grrrl should watch out or they’ll be pregnant in a heartbeat.

    And, as I read Carolyn Cassady again these days, what instantly comes to mind is:

    “You see, if you go like him all the time you’ll finally get it.”
    “Get what?”
    “IT! IT! I’ll tell you—now no time, we have no time now.” Dean rushed
    back to watch Roll Greb some more.
