  1. I’m addicted to SOMAFM as my preferred webstream. I even went so far as to buy a used laptop for my workshop just so I can pipe in Indie Pop Rocks off the WiFi. Radio may not be dead, but any medium with *no talking* is head and shoulders above commercial broadcast for me.

  2. I hear you Ross. My friends are all into pandora, but I got tired of songs repeating. It’s nice to listen to a play list that’s assembled by a human and not a computer algorithm.

  3. I’m addicted to somafm’s IPR also; Elise Nordling has a great taste for “indie rock” and I’ve met so many good bands through her. AND the station IDs are awesome.

  4. Dudes. MPR’s (that’s Minnesota Public Radio) The Current is where it is at. It is public radio (so real people) AND indie rock. They stream live from their website. It’s super awesome.

  5. SOMAFM IPR is now the primary influence on my music buying. In the last 2 weeks alone: Rogue Wave, 50 Foot Wave, Black Angels, Augie March, The Delgados, …Trail of Dead. Without Elise I wouldn’t have The Decemberists, The Shins, Pinback, American Analog Set, Bird & Bee, Clinic, The Velvet Teen, The Clientele, Cat Power, The New Pornographers and lots more. I owe them big time.
