  1. caramelos???? you ate only candy?

but you seem to be eating tacos! you’re even discussing a type of tacos too! Do they call tacos by other names in Tucson?

  2. that bad uh? laser eye surgery! or even better: surgical laser eyes!

  3. Uh, yes caramelos? are you sure you spelled that right?

Weird caramelos mentioned here. Also cat = 21.

I’ve never heard it called that. Does Caramelo = w/onions? or somehow carmalized.

Ah, found it. “…a caramelo essentially is a quesadilla filled with meat.” –Stauffer at tucsoncitizen dot cee oh em

  4. so its like a flour tortilla with cheese and ham?

thats silly, you’d call that a “sincronisada”.

the tex mex in tucson is really silly.

from the name i would’ve expected some sort of sweet treat.

  5. The sincronisada always makes me think of synchronized swimming. Ham, cheese, and Esther Williams.

  6. so is “tex mex” a catch-all for somewhat anglicized mexican food coming from the border?

  7. yes, that pretty much defines tex mex cooking in my humble opinion.

any time you see a taco with chedar cheese on it or a dish drowned in salsa and ground beef trying to pass itself as mexican food i would refer to it as tex mex.

  8. i just thought tht that was exclusive to texas. like new mexico had its own variant, arizona had its own thing, and california has “baja style.”

damn you texas, bringing all your native children up to have such complexes.

  9. Anything with Cheddar on top is partly Anglo, whatever else the rest of it is. Anglo-Mex?
