    I remember when we -told- stories to people. Now we just write them down in books. How can you understand the story if you don’t hear it directly from the author? *grumble grumble* Writing is destroying society.

    True Story:

    When writing was first invented, some people complained that it would destroy the tradition of memorization and oral recitation.

    The reason we know of these complaints is that archeologists discovered ancient clay tablets where the complaints were written (presumably by somebody of the opposite opinion).
