I have the insatiable desire to see Merde d’Artista on the shelf — I would buy so many cases of it

Google is going to help you more than Wikipedia. Also, be sure to search for “judd box”, not just “judd”.

Huh. I thought it was a reference to Donald Judd…

It’s strange to see Girl and Boy looking their age over the edge of that counter.
This strip is an example of how, for me at least, C&G wouldn’t be half as effective without readily available wiki. But also a demonstration of how each one makes me love the other even more – a match made in heaven!

I think this comic is an example of how much life experience goes into minimal art.

Also, how there are probably hundreds of Cat and Girl strips that I imagined being wry and abstract, but really I was just too lazy to google and find the specific references ;-) Gives me something left to look forward to, I suppose.

Sorry, I meant minimalist not minimal…. I don’t know what “minimal art” sounds like, but something different and not as complimentary.

Merde d’Artista was the one item I didn’t think to Google. Thanks, joe.

I don’t think Brian can afford “cases and cases” though.

One must Google carefully and completely:

I’ve always heard of the famed Merde d’Artista (although misattributed to Warhol; he’s more famous and it’s the sort of thing he’s do). The cans were full of plaster all along?!?! No shit? (HA!) How disappointing, must have lowered their value considerably. Oh the irony.

Shoot, I was hoping they were making a reference to my university with the “Cornell box.” :/

Every one acknowledges that men’s life is very expensive, nevertheless some people need cash for different things and not every man earns enough cash. Therefore to receive good credit loans or just student loan should be a right solution.

I know just enough street French to have figured what was in the can, but didn’t care to know an artist thought it was artistic to can it and that there are fools willing to pay for what actually might be a can of plaster. Anyone want a painting smeared with elephant dung? Actually, we’re getting ready to open an artists spa on a dairy near here. $500 a dive into the manure pit should be a fair price.
